The fourth generation of NASCAR vehicles competed from 1992 to 2007, making the move from more stock parts to primarily steel bodies. It coincided with some of the biggest moments in NASCAR history, launched the careers of many of its most legendary drivers, and remains immensely popular with its former racers and fans alike.
Chevrolet switched from the Lumina to the Monte Carlo in 1995, and the car received some major updates for 2000. It kicked off the 2003 season by sweeping Daytona Speedweeks, and drivers Jimmie Johnson, Dale Earnhardt Jr., Jeff Gordon, and Kevin Harvick took four of the top five spots in Cup Series points at the end of the season.
