Design iRacing Wraps in Illustrator with Vector Smart Templates
If you like designing in Adobe Illustrator, Vector Smart Templates are built for that workflow. You draw the scheme in Illustrator, save, and the matching Photoshop iRacing template updates with the design already aligned to the car panels.
Why painters use them
Illustrator is better for clean logos, sponsor layouts, and vector edits. The iRacing paint file still needs to live in Photoshop. Vector Smart Templates bridge that gap without making you rebuild panel positions by hand every time.
The structure is similar to a normal Photoshop Smart Template, so if you’ve used those before, the layout will feel familiar.
Basic workflow
Open the Vector Smart Template for your car in Illustrator.
Build the design on the template panels — numbers, sponsors, shapes, colors.
Save the Illustrator file (
Ctrl/Cmd+S).Open the linked Photoshop iRacing template. The design scales into place automatically.
Export or copy the paint into your iRacing paints folder, preview in-sim, then adjust as needed before uploading to Trading Paints.

Photopea can help with some Photoshop steps, but this workflow depends on the Illustrator ↔ Photoshop link, so both Adobe apps are required for the full setup.
