For more than 30 years, Caterham's Academy series has been a mainstay of British motorsport, welcoming thousands of novice drivers since its inception in 1995. Racers receive a fully guided experience as they enter the world of motorsport, and they get to keep the car at the end of the season-which they can then upgrade to compete in Caterham's higher-level championships.
While it's part of a popular racing series, Caterham's Academy-spec car happens to be road-legal. It produces 130 horsepower out of its Horse HR13 engine, while featuring a six-speed gearbox and limited-slip differential. The tire spec is also designed for low grip in order to teach drivers strong car control skills.
